With week 3 in the bag and week four off to a smooth start, I'm excited at the way things have been going. With my quant a bit weaker than it should be, I focused on just quant basics on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This put me behind as far as my homework was concerned and, even though I logged 16.5 hours, I didn't the weekly assignments.
Walking to class today, I was a bit nervous as I know my quant isn't quite up to par. I didn't want to get in the situation where we'd get an in class problem, and rather than working on solving the problem the teacher posed, I'd be staring at my iPad hoping the answer with all of the supporting work would just appear on the screen.
When class began, the teacher put the subjects we would be studying on the overhead. Critical Reasoning and Integrated Reasoning were listed first with Quant (Algebra 1) batting last. That seemed like a really nice setup with quant being only one this of the class and being the final third, so I would have two thirds of the class to warm up before we got to the tough stuff. And all I had to do was survive that final third and this week, I'd be more able to Algebra my way out of any situation.
Well class began with Algebra. WTF??? Why would she lead us in one direction, a direction she chose, and then take another path. Well Algebra ended up being something like 3/4 of class today but I pretty much hung with everyone else. I won a few, I lost a few, but in the end, I wasn't lost like I have been in previous weeks.
As for my studying, I went from the 'study for three hours straight' method on Saturdays to 'study for an hour, take a forty-five minute break, and then study for another hour. This was my strategy yesterday and I was able to study from 9am until 5pm and not get fatigued. I also spent the week studying when I could and passing on it when I couldn't. If I didn't feel well or knew I couldn't focus, like late Friday night, I skipped it figuring I'd make it up the next day...and I logged 16.5 hours.
This coming week, I'll continue studying a lot of quant and reading materials that get down to the basic. Week four has begun.. Rock on!
